Climate button does not work while in Carplay. There are no a/c fan speed buttons, so the only way to adjust fan speed is to push ‘climate’ and use the screen controls- a major pet peeve. There is an off button that works in CarPlay. Would love an update/download to fix this. Received this week and installed last night. Took 2.5 hrs. Hardest part was removing vent-the clips that secure it are at the corners- best way to remove was to only use the trim tool on top and bottom. I used it in the side and it wrinkled the dash foamy material. The second hardest part was routing GVIF wires. I got good cuts so wear gloves if your hand will fit. The wires like to go right instead of down-Would use a hooked wire(like a bent hanger) to guide it down while feeding it. Besides the climate button, this is a great mod and the instructions were spot on. Thank you!

Excellent instructional clip Eric. I'm comparing the different systems / accessories for my 2019 Tundra that would allow me to display my Android phone on the display allowing me to use Waze or Google Maps and other stuff. Nice job of being clear and succinct, avoiding any background music that other YT content providers think is beneficial [NOT]. Also, does your system display anything that is on my phone, ie videos and browser content? And, since it looks like the Android Auto 'takes over the display' when using it, it might have been good for you to show the operation of cycling in and out of the newly installed accessory and the OEM system.

When using this with the gr86 premium and oem subwoofer, do you plug this into the sub harness or into the head unit unit? Car>Sub>Amp>Head or Car>Amp>Sub>Head. This is since the oem sub harness uses the left plug on the head unit too. Thank you in advance. Edit: I guess you could also plug the sub harness into the amp harness or vice versa

Looks like it will plug into any Toyota stereo from 2004 and up.

How would you say you compare to the newer Lexion models for Lexus? They run a Qualcomm 6125 AI-class chip 11nm 4-core 2.0GHZ, 4-core1.8GHZ chip.

Once the module is installed and you are inside CarPlay, what happens when you click the climate button on the head unit? Will the OEM climate screen appear? Do the rest of the factory buttons of the head unit keep their OEM functions while you are in CarPlay?

Great video. I don't think the masking tape is need, but I love the small extra step to protect the car!!!! FYI: When you apply masking tape, you are "masking" whatever, and you would say, "Once you have masked the [blank]..." Still, great step I would have never thought about doing!!!
